Martin Thompson – Managing Director / Owner Martin established LMA Timber back in 2018. Having worked in the building industry for the last 6 years, (following 12 years in the UK working with people suffering from personal injuries) Martin experienced first-hand substantial waste being incurred on building sites. It was this desire to find a more sustainable/reclaimed solution to help reduce the impact on landfills that LMA Timber was born. Martin is a loyal family man, supporting the community where possible and is proud to be involved with local projects such as the Save The Jetty over in Governors Bay amongst many other council projects/initiatives.
Don Reed – Director Don is an experienced General Manager with a demonstrated history in the Building and Fuel industry. As the Caldwell Group CEO and a Director of LMA Timber LTD, Don is a proven Business Management Leader, specialising in retail/trade multi-channel business. He has a strong understanding of key business drivers and strong people management skills as well as a passion for utilising sustainable products in the building industry where possible.
Keith Caldwell – Owner Keith has been associated with the building industry for over 40 years. Starting as an apprentice builder Keith has successfully moved into the supply of building materials and frame & truss manufacturing since 1985. During this time Keith and his son Daniel have established the Dyers Road ITM, VIP Frames & Truss and other related building industry businesses. Always looking ahead Keith saw potential in becoming a partner in LMA Timbers, distributing sustainable and recycled Australian Hardwoods throughout New Zealand.
Shannon Read – South Island Business Development Manager Shannon started with LMA Timber in 2021 and comes from a sales / retail background having worked in the hardware industry for over 12 years. With sales being her passion she also prides herself on building great relationships with customers and is genuinely interested in your project whether it be big or small. Outside of work Shannon loves the outdoors and traveling and is planning on completing a great walk every year. Shannon is based at our showroom at 66 Wickham St Bromley and is looking forward to meeting you all.
Glenn Minnell – North Island Business Development Manager Glenn has worked in the building industry (building material supply merchants) for 23 years, 19 in account management and as a senior account manager/commercial sales manager for the last 10 years. He has worked on projects ranging from small residential builds to large major commercial projects. Glenn is well respected by suppliers, competitors, colleagues and clients. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, mountain biking and keeping fit. James Pere – Auckland North Business Development Manager James has extensive experience in the construction Industry including 18 years in Account Management and 2 years as a National Commercial / Sales Team Manager. During this time, James has spent countless hours working alongside developers, architects / designers, builders and various construction companies in both residential and commercial projects throughout New Zealand. With an eye for detail and exceptional customer service, James is well respected in the industry.
Out of the office, James enjoys the gym, being on the water fishing, swimming, diving & especially, spending time with his family and friends.
Matt Williams – Otago / Southland Business Development Manager Matt comes with an extensive Business background, being a Director in a retail business in Alexandra for 12 years, and most recently selling Design & Build residential homes to bespoke building clients in Wanaka for the past 4 years. Originally from Southland, then educated at the University of Otago, and residing in Central Otago/Southern Lakes for the past 16 years Matt is well networked through the territory. Matt has an eye for detail, he enjoys getting hands on and is well adverse to relationship building. Outside of work Matt enjoys the great outdoors, planning many adventures with his wife and 3 boys. Matt has had hands on experience with LMA cladding in his previous sales role, he is looking forward to sharing his knowledge for your next project – he can be found at our new Wanaka showroom at 50 Anderson Road.
Fliss Rhodes – Head of Operations and Logistics Fliss, our Head of Operations and Logistics, brings a wealth of experience in administration and customer service. Her background in customer-facing roles and management along with her excellent communication skills makes her a key asset to our team. Whether she’s coordinating logistics, assisting with customer inquiries or in the warehouse Fliss is always ready to lend a hand. Outside of work Fliss enjoys keeping fit and healthy, working with her fostering dogs and spending time with family and friends.
Karlayne Eggleton – Office Admin Support Karlayne comes to us with many years of experience in customer service and administration under her belt. An administration superstar added to the team to keep the wheels spinning, ensuring our team is able to deliver exceptional service for customers. Outside of the office, she likes to keep active – walking her dog and playing tennis and indoor netball. Karlayne is looking forward to seeing you all at our showroom at 66 Wickham St, Bromley.

With five years of administrative experience, Kim excels in managing office operations and streamlining processes. Known for their attention to detail and strong communication skills, they ensure smooth daily functions and provide essential support to the team. Adaptable and proactive, Kim is committed to enhancing efficiency and contributing to the overall success of the organization. Outside of work, Kim enjoys staying active through exercise and values spending quality time with friends and family.

With a degree in marine and environmental science, plus a focus on ecology and biodiversity, Taz is all about protecting our planet. Now studying construction and cost management, Taz is excited to bring these new skills into the mix. When not working or studying, she is busy with two kids and a lively family life. A true people person, Taz is always ready to jump in and get things done, bringing a genuine, hands-on approach to the team.
