This brand-new retirement village is a significant build happening within Papamoa, comprising of accessible villas, bowling green, and a spectacular communal building called The Lakehouse.
This huge project will deliver 220 Villas, 30 Townhouses, and several large commercial buildings which is expected to be complete by 2025. Construction commenced in 2019, and by early 2022 – despite pandemic lockdowns, labour shortages, and material delays – over 120 Villas, a bowling green, a man-made lake, and The Lakehouse; a stunning space for residents to relax, dine, and socialise has been completed.
Designed by one of New Zealand’s leading architects Sumich Chaplin, The Lakehouse sits partially over a man-made lake, and uses reclaimed natural wood products to enhance its earthy tones. These wood products have been reclaimed from the likes of power-poles, warehousing / wharf timbers and have been repurposed to form an incredible structure that is both elegant and rustic in design.
