Grey Box is one of Australia’s sturdiest hardwoods, renowned for its dense structure, tight cathedral grain, and subtle tones ranging from nutty browns to soft wheat. Rated Class 1 for natural durability and boasting a Janka hardness around 15 kN, it performs outstandingly in high‑traffic, exposed or coastal decks.

Class 1 durability – expected service life of 40+ years.
Very high hardness (approx. 15kN Janka), making it resistant to wear and dents.
Colour tones range from pale honey through to nutty browns with a fine cathedral grain.
Performs well in high-traffic, coastal, or fully exposed environments.
Boards are factory-oiled to support acclimatisation and reduce initial maintenance.
Sustainably sourced Australian hardwood – never rainforest timbers such as Kwila.
Available in standard decking profiles (commonly 135 × 19 mm and 86 × 19 mm).
Can be left to weather naturally to silver-grey, or re-oiled every 12–18 months to maintain colour.
